Can't pick just one. Sometimes I use the soundscripts, sometimes I listen to music in the background.
These are the Good Ole Days, just wait and see.

Voted add-on sound scripts since I mostly play Career Mode tournaments with tournament sound script, but I also often just play normal rounds without tournament options and just course environmental sounds, almost always so when playing a course for the first time. Occasionally music or various kinds of broadcasts in background too.
Finished Courses - Main: Amedal (fictional), Nine Bridges (real)
Other: Austin, Sheshan, Kauri Cliffs, Le Golf Nat. Updates: Whirlpool, Royal Lytham, Royal St George's, Chicago, Chambers Bay, Munchen Nord E
Working on: 2 fictional courses + a couple things...

I watch/listen to tv while playing, but I do have the swing sound and the ball falling into the cup. I think the sound of the sand shot is there, too. Also, I use the player animations that don't over-react to their swings and shots, like Sean Connery, James Braid, Norm, JH Taylor.

Only want to hear the club hitting the ball. Sometimes with music, sometimes not.

80's mainstream is my prime. A little of the 70's, a little of the 90's. Also listen to some 90's country. If it's music after 2000, I wouldn't know what or who you are talking about.
