Green Analyzer

Post by Still Linksing »

There was something in an APCD design that makes the Green Analyzer crash on certain courses.
Does anyone know what causes it to crash and a way to stop it crashing in the first place?

It was when a course was designed with adjoining seam blends in/around the greens without a planar texture in between. For instance:
green planar texture
seam blend for green-to-fringe
seam blend for fringe-to-fairway
seam blend for fairway-to-rough

Instead of:
green planar texture
seam blend for green-to-fringe
fringe planar texture
seam blend for fringe-to-fairway
fairway planar texture
... etc ...

I recall that the Green Analyzer depends on a non-green planar texture to limit the extent of its analysis of the contours to render. With adjoining seam blends, there is no such planar, and the Analyzer keeps on going through the blends and ends up trying to evaluate/render much too large of an area - out into the fairway, for example - and it crashes.
