Well, I did try and break this news more than once but nobody believed me. So there!

Unfortunately, it’s looking more like a typical modern golf game than the Links we know. Not sure how “single player” it will be.

Hmm... Will be interesting indeed to see more details but I feel kinda pessimistic about it if I'd have to guess at what it'll be like. Initial thoughts:

-TruGolf Inc who are these guys...? Seems like a company for actual golf simulators?
-Why does it say release date June 22 when its not out yet.......
-Indeed no mention of course designer.
-Cant see any hints of any swing types other than the classic-looking one... which feels extremely odd to me.
-Says Free to play... with paid course DLC packs (and presumably various other microtransactions squeezed in anywhere they can? No golfer models though so they cant go the same path PGA 2k21 did with clothes accessories and such).

Not getting the feeling initially that they're trying to stay anywhere nearly true to the series' roots.

And is it perhaps a very low effort of porting their standard simulator software into a simple computer game as a bit of a bonus cash-in without really expecting it to go very far?
Finished Courses - Main: Amedal (fictional), Nine Bridges (real)
Other: Austin, Sheshan, Kauri Cliffs, Le Golf Nat. Updates: Whirlpool, Royal Lytham, Royal St George's, Chicago, Chambers Bay, Munchen Nord E
Working on: 2 fictional courses + a couple things...

Being free, I'm wondering if they are sort of testing the waters to see what kind of interest there might be in a future fully featured paid version of the game with course designer, golfer models, various swing options etc.

Either that or, as mentioned above, they'll get their money in other ways.

Right now I'm in the "proceed with caution" frame of mind about this.

Same!

I have no expectations this will replace Links or that I’ll even use it with the current Links versions. The only concern is it may drag away Links 2003 online players. This would mean less people playing Links 2003.

Hopefully it turns out to be complete garbage. :clapping:

Wow, even with today's technology those courses look about 15 years old. I think Trugolf put out something a few years back and it looked awful as well. Pass.

I'm with you on this. I don't see it turning into anything!
