END OF PGA MATCH PLAY?

Post by Jimbo »

It looks like the end of match play on the tour

I don't know if this means that Austin is "out of bounds" next year or whether they'll just change the format-I'm thinking that the tour wants to maintain a good profile in Texas.

I read somewhere that Austin CC played hardball with the tour on future negotiations and the tour balked at that. Apparently Austin CC eventually caved but the tour ghosted them and...kaput, no more Austin CC and no more match play. Not sure if LIV's emergence played a role but there you have it.

One rumor is that the Houston Open will be moved back into the regular rotation in this schedule spot, but the tour hasn't released its schedule for next year yet so who knows for sure.
