Re: Terrain Painter
Yeah, getting multiple verts out of the terrain painter occasionally is something I see regularly as well. I think it is somewhat related to the slope of the terrain where the verts are being added; the multiple verts seem to occur more frequently on side hills for example. Try using edge collapse f...

Re: Getting custom 3D objects into the APCD
The .tga filename needs to be woodtee.tga, same as woodtee.x, not the woodteetex00.tga that Links Extender spits out. Try that and see if it works. I have not had any issues converting model types yet as long as the file names match what the model calls for internally. I use GIMP for most image edit...

Re: Getting custom 3D objects into the APCD
You need the .x model file to accompany the .tga file so yes you would need Milkshape3D. I'll save you the conversion: WoodTee.x.zip The .x model file references the .tga texture so you need to keep the files names the same. Once the Links Extender conversion is done you should be able to rename the...

Getting custom 3D objects into the APCD
I started to explore this idea to see if there was a faster way to get 3D into the game than the usually build out of terrain in the APCD. This topic was a good starting point: https://linkscorner.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=3035#p3035. I originally wanted to get 3D from other courses into the APCD, b...

Re: A Course Idea....Is This Even Possible
It would take some work but this could be done within QGIS. It would basically involve doing a DEM plot of every hole, done to the same size, and then placed together in QGIS. Once all the rasters were aligned together in QGIS (maybe a 3x6 tile layout) the DEM import would proceed as usual. The sate...

Re: Tot Hill Farm problem
Too many verts for a reflective water surface. Also remember to flatten.
I'll soon get around to your last pm Sage.

Re: Good Idea or Bad Idea?
to a low, flat elevation Could you elaborate on what you mean by this? That is only to aid in the process of distinguishing and selecting the "masked out" verts in the APCD to be deleted. I have learned that you can select all the verts below the terrain plot by positioning the perspectiv...

Good Idea or Bad Idea?
Kiawah_Island.jpg I did this DEM import a while ago to test an idea. It is always a trade off of how much course plot area to cover and how many verts to use. By decreasing the coverage area more verts can be used for the actual golf course and not the surrounding terrain. One of the advanced techn...

Re: Pga West stadium course
I got a head start on this course request and gave Sage the DEM import files. I managed to fit both the Dye Stadium course and the Nicklaus Tournament course on the same 3m DEM plot. PGA_West_Dye_Stadium1.jpg PGA_West_Dye_Stadium2.jpg Interesting that this course request came up at this time since t...

Re: Next project
Good news, I can get the files to do a DEM of all 5 courses. Some are more recent than others. Gozzer Ranch - 2019 Spring Hill Golf Club - 2012 from old USGS FTP site TPC Sugarloaf - 2019 Pelican Hill Ocean North - 2012 from old USGS FTP site Kirtland Country Club - 2019 My vote is Gozzer Ranch. I l...
