Re: 2000 textures for 3D objects
Hi, Dan. Links Extender needs a .x file (DirectX 3D model) AND the .tga texture files used to map the 3D model. So you need a software that exports to a DirectX file (.x extension). On the other hand, you can download from the internet any 3D model format you want, providing you have a software that...

Re: 2000 textures for 3D objects
Hi all. Trying to un-rust me in old methods that I did not use since Windows XP era, I produced the 3D car model attached. These were my steps: - I downloaded the free 3D model from internet as a .fbx file. - I imported it to 3dsmax. - I followed the pdf instructions from the old apcd-courses site. ...

Re: 2000 textures for 3D objects
Hi, Danny. Yes, you are right. You have to use the Links Extender "convert X file" option to get the .xyz and .map files. Indeed, they (Andrew and Rehit) did not make this clear in their pdf instructions. And as far as I remember, the third file (.prv file) is simply a tga preview image of...

Re: Custom 3D tees
Hi, Sage. When I was working on Muirfield, several years ago, I created a 32x32 TGA with an alpha channel surrounding a 1-pixel white dot in the middle. Doing so, you can see them into the game as reference for your 3D tees. And you always can hide them later if you put the 3D tees over the white do...

Re: Chambers Bay updates
Hi, Sage.
I suppose you will already have them but, just in case, I attach the hole locations of the 4 rounds of the 2015 U.S. Open.

Re: Tape ruler in APCD
There used to be a problem with the tape measure in Windows 7. You solved it by checking the "Disable visual themes" option, I think. It was also recommended to run APCD as administrator. I don't know if the Windows 10 compatibility tab has the same options. WindowsCompatibilityOptions.png...

Re: 3D houses
I looked into 3DS Max last night. It looks like a very expensive rental program that you pay for monthly/yearly. It's over 200 dollars a month, over 1600 dollars a year, and over 4000 dollars for 4 years. :scared: Might be cheaper to hire someone that has the program to create the 3D objects for us...

Re: 3D houses
Thank you so much for sharing that guide alarduran, that seems like it could potentially be extremely useful to some of us designers. I will possibly try out that method for some identical houses at Nine Bridges later on. If I can get a hold of the program anyway, havent looked into that part. So t...

Re: 3D houses
Hi, Sean. No, I never finished Muirfield. Family and work came into my way and APCD time became minimal. Now, with this COVID-19 pandemonium, all people in my country were put on home confinement (I live in Spain) and I have a bit more spare time to spend it on digital golf, for a while. Glad to hea...

Re: 3D houses
Searching into a backup image file of the XP computer I mention before, I found a pdf which might be helpful. It contents instructions to create 3D objects for APCD. If I remember well, this pdf was originally made public at the old apcd-courses.com site administrated by Mogulbasher (Andrew) and the...
