Re: Kart Track - Lidar/Could point data vs Laser scan

No idea. But in the current Linkster-DEM course I am working on, I have needed to level out a few inground pools in rear yards of adjacent houses.

Re: Planting mystery

Hey mate - sorry to hear that, it must be pissing you off. I feel your pain! I only have theories. And so the rules I now follow are: - Don't forrest plant into more than one shape at a time; - As you forrest plant, watch the shape carefully. If, as can happen, the plants do not display - then immed...

Re: Planting mystery

It worked for me - the simple trick is to use Select All then delete the objects, not to manually select your 2D objects before deleting them. Go figure. So you still lose your planting but at least everything else is in tact.

Re: Planting mystery

Recently found this 2020 post by accident - which I didn't see on my original searches. So just for the record, cannot be certain about what causes this bug and a complete replant seems to be the only solution so far, but Derreck Summers had the (simple) fix all along.................. :clapping: So...

Re: AI Generated assets for APCD

Didn't know about it until I read your post Lez. The whole "text-to-image" thing looks amazing, so I will explore a little more. I subscribe to Adobe Photos online now. It's about $70 AUS/month (and I am committed for a year), so its an investment in my APCD hobby, But it gives me access t...

Re: Course keeps crashing Links 2003 the game

Hi Sage - would be helpful to know what you've already tried as a fix. There's a multitude of reasons for a CRZ crashing in APCD or Links. I am sure that with our collective knowledge, we can come up with a solid checklist of possible causes. - 2D objects planted off the plot? - Changes to lie indic...

Re: Here we go again...

Nice work mate. Have you tried inserting shapes, to save time? The only pitfall to Linksters DEMs is the sheer numbers of verts that you need to navigate through/around. It can take some extra time to adjust the verts or paint around them where necessary. I know that the "insert shapes" fu...

Re: Planting mystery

Thanks Lez. I didn't use the % removal tool, but I was using the forest tool on the course. So I definitely think its use is related to this somehow, now you mention it. The wierd thing is that the unplantable areas appear as squarish. They don't seem to have anything to do the shape I was using to ...

Re: Planting mystery

The final word. It keeps coming back as new random sections of the course suddenly become unplantable (or what is planted is gone or replaced with garble). At least I have now discovered that it only ever happens when I save a copy (either save, save as or validate) at the time when I have all 2D ob...

Re: Australian courses

Hey Sage Scaling and extruding later can be a little painful, so I always try and add in initial extra verts (in the "corners") wherever I can. I sketch out whatever part of the building I am working on by hand with all the measurements. But no matter who much planning - there's always alo...
