Re: Accurate Greens

Thanks. I was thinking I had that one on there already, but obviously not. First post is updated again.

Re: St. George Golf and CC, Toronto

I played a few holes and it looks and plays great. Just wondering if this one includes Strackaline-type real green contours? If so I'll add this to the list I posted in another thread of courses using actual green contour data.

Re: Career Mode Settings/Roster

Thank you to everyone for your responses and suggestions. I will keep tinkering and try to find something that works for me. The most frustrating part is that it's so darn difficult to 'test' something. New career, etc. etc. just to see if what you're trying is working.

Career Mode Settings/Roster

I'm hoping someone (or many people) can share with me the best career mode roster to use, as well as the proper settings needed to get realistic scores and finishing results using career mode. I've tinkered with a couple of different roster sets (a recent 2019 roster set and a 2009 set, I think it w...

Re: I am all for challenge, but this is not working as well as I hoped

Regarding your posting about Ballybunion, the designer of that course has several other courses that I've tried to play and run into severe issues. Royal County Down, Portrush, Royal St George's just to name a few that are fantastic real world courses that are unfortunately nearly unplayable in Link...

Re: I am all for challenge, but this is not working as well as I hoped

There are indeed some courses, and even some designers, that should be avoided at all costs if you're looking for anything remotely realistic. And it's a shame too, because some of my favorite real world courses have Links incarnations that are in no way, shape, or form realistic, and usually contai...

Re: Courses with the Toughest Greens

I will nominate the MS version of Royal Melbourne. Played at appropriate speed (Fc/Mc or similar), they are deceptively difficult. Only a handful of the pins are 'unfair', but if you don't leave your approach shots in the right places, you'll never score as well as you think you should. As an aside,...

Re: Windows 11

Has anyone else on the forum tried Links 2003 with Linux? I've got Ubuntu installed on my laptop and use it for everything except Links (including some older windows games running through Wine) and really like it. I first made the switch about 4 years ago and have never looked back to Windows (with ...
