Re: Thought to Brooks
Thanks your kind comments. Because of coronavirus and sorting out our local golf club, have not looked at Linkscorner recently. Nearest I got was Enniscrone (Stewart Parker), near Sligo, and never made it to Donegal. Only did Ballyliffin as Faldo raves about it and the Irish Open was played there. A...

Chapultepec
Looking at the WGC golf from Mexico, I of course forgot when I did this course that the ball flies about 15% further at 7,500 feet altitude - so Rory McIlroy hits a 520 yards par 4 with a drive and an 8-iron! Presumably, Links can't be adjusted for altitude (same applies to Crans Montana). Cheers Jo...

Re: Seeking advice for Seam Blends
My advice is simple. If you have any kind of seam blend check your number of edges. The total must always be an even number. If the number of edges is an odd number (like those that failed above) you have a problem. I personally shy away from 3-way blends such as bunker/rough/fairway - these are jus...

Re: 3D houses
Thanks Dan. The houses are largely hidden by trees but have to be white with terra cotta roofs - lot of the European Courses like Valderrama and some of the Spanish and Portuguese ones also have these. I've already got the 3D houses from the 2001 planting set, but these are so far removed from what ...

3D houses
Am working on Earth Course Dubai (where the Race to Dubai ends next week) - no problem setting up Course and normal planting, but virtually every hole is surrounded by houses - nearly all white with terra cotta roof - what's the best (and quickest) way of setting up or importing 3D versions of these...

Re: Planting
Hi Sage Planting - I don't mind it, but I do my level best to keep it to a minimum for a variety of reasons:- (1) It massively increases file size for no appreciable gain. (2) You don't need to plant anything on where you play golf - greens, tees, bunkers and fairways and related seam blends. (3) It...

Re: Seam Blends
Hi BVDesigner 152. Seam Blends definitely need an Alpha to work - but sometimes Alphas can get corrupted - so if you're using, say, Alpha1, try Alpha2 to see if that works. Also, make sure that you have called the texture Seam Blend - you usually only need a seam blend for Near (rather than Medium o...

Re: 18 tees, 9 greens, Isle of Skye Golf Club
Quite right Cap'n. I've currently got 18 tees and 9 greens, so I have actually got my 18 holes. I tried splitting the greens in two - so green 1 is half for the first hole, and half for the tenth. But you still get two flags showing. Now I've had a look at a Links special - St. Andrews Old - and eve...

18 tees, 9 greens, Isle of Skye Golf Club
Has anyone out there got any idea how you can play the game with only one pin appearing on any green at a time, instead of 2 pins? (i.e. the first green also doubles as the 10th, etc).
