Re: Course Testing

Colin, My 8 ani golfers (a mix of great and totally useless golfers playing off varying tees - 4 off the back, 1 each off the other tees) give me 8 different views of the course for just about every shot - that's the main reason I use them. That sounds a very good way of testing which on future cour...

Re: Course Testing

JC, I have never thought about using anis for testing, and I see a lot of sense in what you say, though I am unsure if I have the patience to do it. (3 hours for each pin position :scared: ) 3 of the 8 courses I've tested have had at least one problem hole. What do you mean by this? Does this mean t...

Re: Pga West stadium course

How much time do you think having a Lidar DEM saves you? When I built my first real course, Wade Hampton, I used both Goggle Earth and contour maps from USGS(?) and it took me an age (closer to 2000 hours -, I estimate), but seeing a 3D course emerge from a flat plot was immensely pleasurable and g...

Re: Pga West stadium course

Pete, But it only takes 500 or so hours to do a course. I think those are Sagehours. Although I am getting faster at completing a course, it takes me closer to 800+ hours. I wouldn't want to do it - I'd rather do a course that I want to do I agree with you. Although I have always been open t...

Re: The Golf Club at Black Rock Final

Pete,
The quality of Linksters contour maps of the greens is excellent, and although time consuming to build, I believe it provides a more realistic representation of the actual greens.
Here is the detail of the 14th:

Re: The Golf Club at Black Rock Final

3Wood , Thank you for enjoying the course. I have no idea why there were no shadows. :dunno: I have modified the Beta version, again, and saved a new Final V1.1. I will send the new version to Andy this morning. Sorry for the trouble. Pete Thank you for enjoying the course. You are probably correct...

Re: The Golf Club at Black Rock Final

GoBucks,
The only change to the Beta was to the 12th green in the north east corner where five verts that were 0.2 Feet too low have been corrected.
Everything else is exactly the same, as there were no comments made.
I am happy that you enjoyed it.
Thank you.
