It happens to me pretty frequently, and I've always thought it was caused by a slight movement of my hand. After doing 15-20 verts, I zoom in to check for multiples. This is the copy of RuKsHuK.exe (contained in a .zip) that you want to use (replacing the one in your /Links 2003/ directory). It does away with the need to insert a disk in order to run Links2003.
