Thanks Linkster
I'll give it a whirl.

Re: St Andrews The Old Course 2022
Hi Linkster Havent been able to upload a dem yet. Keep getting wrong format error messages. So my original data is a Lidar DTM 1m, 2 tiles which I merged. I created a grid with horiz and vertical spacing 2m. Translated it 1m horiz and vertical. Sampled it. Opened Attribute layer and multiplied left,...

Re: St Andrews The Old Course 2022
Hi, folks. I was intrigued about the effects of changing the internal edges of the fairways to a sharpness of 1 from one of 0. I gave it a try on Royal Birkdale #10 fairway. I attach comparative screenshots. Changes are very subtle but I think they are worth of it (bumpiness are a bit more noticeab...

Re: St Andrews The Old Course 2022
Hi again. When Linkster said that he rescaled the z axis elevation in APCD using a uniform constrained thingy I thought I knew what he was talking about. But when I loaded up the TCC.crz into my APCD, it turns out I didn't. I tried selecting all the verts and using the scale button with Uniform cons...

Re: St Andrews The Old Course 2022
Yes Adelade, quite a few buildings from St Andrews are in the original APCD planting set. I think they might have been in Links2001. They are not very good for the game, they are blurry, but might be able to be used as a guide for creating them in APCD. I would agree with hose who said the course lo...

Re: LIDAR Tutorial 1 – Creating Green Contours in QGIS
Hi Linkster, yes you are right about LIDAR in England, I've used those sites.... nothing for Carnoustie yet though.....not that I'm obsessed with that place! A step by step guide of how you got St Andrews into APCD would be great, if you have the time. I love the green contouring and think that will...

Re: LIDAR Tutorial 1 – Creating Green Contours in QGIS
Super tutorial ! Thanks a million.
I hope there's good enough data in the UK.
It would be great if you could do the tutorial about hexing the apcd too.
This method is going to be great fun !
Cheers.

Re: Carnoustie 2022
Hi morvio100 thanks for your review of Carnoustie 2022. I've added plenty of crowds, and plenty of extra grass. I've changed a few trees, hopefully the ones you were talking about. One is visible to the right off the 10th tee, and one to the left of the 10th tee hole10.jpg , another is behind the 13...

Re: Carnoustie 2022
Hi morvio A burn in Scotland is a large stream or small river. The 3rd hole at Carnoustie is called Jockie's Burn because of the stream running across the front of the green and the 16th hole is called Barry Burn which is the main burn that winds its way through the course. In the winter the burns w...
