OK, so I think this might be the reason.... When creating a course, and you want to create a new custom texture, usually the quickest way is to clone one of the other ones you already have, then change the textures to what you want. So creating a custom fringe by that method, the best way would be ...

I must be living right. I've been running W10 for over 3 years and when I've had issues, which have been few, it was either hardware or something running in the background like Norton. I believe he mentioned in his original post that he tried different usb ports. Pretty sure after looking up the mouse that it's wired.
