Re: Rendering Issues / Freezing Up

Thank you Adelade, this seems to have worked so far! The HD courses I was having issues with now are loading fine and not crashing the program. All except for Chamber Bay 2021. That one won't even load before crashing. I'll keep tweaking settings, but I may have a work around for the time being. St...

Re: Rendering Issues / Freezing Up

Not a solution, but likely workaround: If some courses load fine but other larger courses do not, there is a significant chance that the larger ones will load and play if you lower your "picture quality" setting within Links' graphics settings before opening those courses - unless you alr...

Re: Rendering Issues / Freezing Up

Thank you for all of the suggestions, but unfortunately, nothing has worked so far. I am going to keep fiddling with it and let you know if I find the solution. Steve Not surprised. Try the suggestions posted here by others but from what I have now seen from other games, there likely are no fixes.

Re: Rendering Issues / Freezing Up

Oh, just thought of another potential biggie, try disabling the dynamic camera. Another thing is try running in 16 bit mode. I know it isn't a great solution but if we can start getting some idea where these problems are coming from, it may help find avenues to potentially resolving them. Hopefully ...

Re: Rendering Issues / Freezing Up

Hey Steve, Sorry, don't have a solution to your problem. I've now come across a handful of literally previously unheard of issues with old games on Win 11 and new computers. All the problems point to issues with graphics processing and all cases were with integrated graphics released in 2021 or 2022...

Ok, thanks. I need to do a little research.

I’m starting to sense playing old games using Win 11 and new hardware may be quite problematic.

Re: Rendering Issues / Freezing Up

Have you only had these issues on the new laptop?

Re: Links won't launch on new device

Thanks so much for your patience and help Still Linksing! No probs. First computer is fine but be aware with integrated graphics Links will almost certainly need dgvoodoo applied. (Sticky in this forum) I don't think there have ever been any reports of integrated graphics not working. You just need...

Re: Links won't launch on new device

Here is a screenshot without anti-aliasing (AA). You can see the poles are jagged. You will see this in various areas of courses. AA fixes it and makes lines straight.

Re: Links won't launch on new device

Had time to take a little look. If you go with your first option that's the cheapest at around $200US. To buy a PC with a card that will give you anti-aliasing it’s around $500US.
