Re: Southern Hills
Course looks great to me. Appreciate you releasing it in time for the tournament. The only small nitpicks I noticed are #13 is 100 yards short of the PGA Championship yardage. No idea where that 632 yard tee would even go though. Also, the fairway bunker on #15 seems too close to the tees and doesn...

Re: Southern Hills
Here is a quote about hole 10 from the article posted by gene_golf (who apparently used up his free previews, as have I now): "The putting surface, one of the most severe on the course , is canted to the left toward a shaved bank that slides toward another indigenous creek." The article a...

Re: Question re - 3d grass - Shadows
This is just a noob type question regards whether or not the Links 2k3 engine has the ability or could be tweaked to render 3d grass, some of the textures currently used by both by past and present designers are absolutely superb, but just wondered whether or not the engine has the ability to rende...

Re: Southern Hills
I looked at hole 10 and indeed, there is not a puttable pin on that green. The closest is pin 9, but I would still rank it as more difficult than the most difficult pins that I find acceptable. I assume no green book was used on these greens. No one ever said that all courses should be usable by al...

Re: TPC San Antonio
Interesting to see choice differences by Glenn Braden in regard to fairways and greens for color and mowing patterns at Southern Hills also TPC San Antonio.

Re: Wonderful Golf Courses
Carolina Pines by Mat Leclair Par 71 7147 yds. A pine forest setting with a low mountain panorama. Fairways and greens are good and plays great. Has water on it that will come into play. Another oldie 2001 but goldie. No cart path so you will need to walk this one. Breeze and occasionally gusty win...

Re: Green Speed and Firmness Stimpmeter settings
Take a look at fc/fc setting that seems to have been already upgraded by orange 1.06 mod and not in blue 1.07 mod. Clicking at 1 dot supposedly over flat ground on green the putt is estimated to roll 9.3 feet and 2 dots 16 feet all adding up to estimated 14.9 stimpmeter reading. That is pretty fast ...

Re: Las Joyas - Using recommended course settings???
Great info gene....19 courses listed....??....cant see a list of said courses...maybe someone should post that list at some stage....I would imagine (noobie view) here that calibrating exact/or closes to actual fairway/and green physics must to be super difficult for designers...nonetheless the pre...

Re: Las Joyas - Using recommended course settings???
Here is some information that found out looking as to when recommended course settings were introduced. Take note of the line which made bold black print and underlined it below. http://www.linkscountryclub.com/links-2003-v107 I highlight below only changes done for 1.07 mod done in 2008. Changes in...
