Re: Carnoustie 2022

Hi Morvio Not a clue what's causing the bunker anomaly, but I've changed the texture and it seems like it's behaving better. I could only get it to do the silly thing with the explode stroke, when I used a chip the ball seems to behave better. Here's another anomaly. In the big bunker on the 17th t...

Re: Fairway / Fringe roll speed in real life?

My guess would be fringe could be set to be slower by roughly 5 to 10 percent and fairway by 25 or up to 33 percent slower as far as putting something out there. As is now fringe and fairway seem to be equal as putting on greens. Putting from either would depend on factors of how close pin might be ...

Re: TPC Craig Ranch

Great to have another real PGA course to play. Not so familiar watching Nelson tournament though has been played at this course only during last 2 years. Greens done by Sage look like have not been mowed in at least a month as seems to be tall grass and extremely grainy moreso than any other green I...

Re: Walnut Grove course

Understood. Thank you. So, this game being a 2005 production, predates the 2007 enhancement of Links with challenging conditions. Now it makes sense why it is amazingly harsh to play in M/Fc or faster. In the original commentaries, the author mentioned playing it in M/M. I am sure that in M/M where...

Re: Sooooo.... Back to Tara Iti it looks like

Gene, there are other textures to be added to the dunes yet. And more sculpting to be done and it will be somewhat heavily planted. And yes, there will be some artistic license used when doing all the humps, bumps and mounds. Even if were to play every day a golfer would have tough time vis...

Re: Sooooo.... Back to Tara Iti it looks like

Hopefully some flora will be added to where finished course will resemble Ardennes Dunes instead of Desolate Dunes. With so many hills and hollows would wonder how came up with elevations of this course.

Re: Sooooo.... Back to Tara Iti it looks like

A highly acclaimed yet exclusive real course where nobody has seen it played on tv---say during a tournament, but can it be made up presentable here in Links other than looking just like Desolate Dunes?

Re: Austin CC 2022 in Devlopment

If the opportunity presents itself, one of the tee options I enjoy is when a tee is offset to the normal approach - off to one side of the straight line-up of tee boxes - to present a different look at hole. Just a suggestion. Pete Par 3's where can change angle of approach to green as well...

Re: Southern Hills

I would be interested in seeing comments from those that have played in windy conditions. My guess with shots coming out of deep rough with lower ball flight that wind might not be a factor, but intend to check out myself. Some courses have deep rough where hitting fairway woods has them only travel...
