I've preferred 2001 for the real anis and, for me, it is the more difficult. I never understood why they left shadows out. I wish some software guru could've cracked the exe and found a way to get shadows back in.

Yeah you can't go higher than 3.
Depth might be bit rate? 16 vs 32 and I think the setting of 1 represents 32 bit.

You might try going into the registry and manually changing things in the display section as far as software mode and graphics mode are concerned. This has worked for me. Change the settings as per this thread below as it works for Links 2001. Software = 0, Windowed = 0 and Mode is 3. 3 is the only ...
