Re: Sand Hollow golf course
Hey, Sage...... I downloaded the beta and played all 18. Not really doing a "beta" test for technical issues or anything. More or less just a quick "visual" run-through so to speak. One glaring spot seemed to be the mound next to the tee on hole 15. It's totally smooth, with a fe...

Re: Meanwhile, 10 years later.....
In a way, I can see what you mean about not including a clubhouse on this course. It would most likely look a bit "out of place". But at the same time, after golfing a round on a hot , dry day it sure would be great to stop in for a couple of cold ones ! ( dang it....I'm mixing up reality ...

Re: Making Clubs.....Need Help
Hey, JC : How's the club making coming along ? Any more progress ? I would think that Saramago would be an ideal source for help , since he's compiled so many different sets already. ( Unless he still wants to be THE club designer for all of us who play LINKS ). You said you've contacted him, right ...

Re: SHAUGHNESSY FOR APCDers
Adelade, I certainly appreciate your positive comments on the things that I've learned using the APCD so far. But I feel like I can't truly consider myself a "designer" until I complete a course from start to finish. I lack the skills to do all the painstaking, bare-bones work of the actua...

Re: SHAUGHNESSY FOR APCDers
PM.....did you use a "grid" on the greens to notice that ?? Just curious. I never use one, myself, just the putting guide. When I played I just used the "random pin" placement generator, and didn't notice that "bowl" effect initially. But, now that you mentioned it, I c...

Re: SHAUGHNESSY FOR APCDers
If you don't mind my asking, is there something grossly "wrong" with Mike Trendocher's version already created for Links ( 2174 ), that couldn't be "reworked" by another designer. Are the "bones" of it not quite right, or something ? Lez did some HD updates on other pre...

Re: Cape Kidnappers
I saw all those same plantings that you need to "hit over", and that obstruct one's view.....but there are a lot of courses with "blind" tee shots, so I basically thought that was Doak's intention, and that Sage was just following the design. I, also, don't care for obstructed vi...

Re: Course Requests
There's also The Links at Spanish Bay , which is located on the Monterey Peninsula, and has beautiful ocean views. There's another resort course in the La Quinta area called Silver Rock Resort , with a layout by Arnold Palmer that looks interesting. The website even has an animated "drone" ...

OK....now I'm starting to think you guys out there are right. Sage Vanni is actually the name of a small business enterprise turning out LINKS courses. Can you believe this ?

Re: Crooked Stick Golf Club - Beta
After playing a full, slow round and "taking in" everything as I played, I feel that Ian has created another First-rate rendition of a real course with Crooked Stick. To me the textures and colors work VERY well together to give the course a very natural and realistic look. The 3D clubhous...
