Re: Tracing GolfLogix Green Contours...

I looked into get StrackaLine, but my course has never been laser-captured. I did figure out a cleaner method for using GolfLogix contours. First you make a TG of a green, making sure you have the long axis pointing in the same direction as your course. GolfLogix has a 5 foot grid printed over the g...

Re: Tracing GolfLogix Green Contours...

Yeah, Braden... Like I said, Green 1 is finished and it works fine. Green 2 is an example of the mess you have to work through to get to Green 1 results. I posted the question asking whether anyone has a better strategy than placing points on the contours and then painstakingly cleaning up the mess ...

Tracing GolfLogix Green Contours...

The final product (Green Contours 1) seems to play very much like the real greens, but the process is pretty tedious. The GolfLogix contours are 3" vertical, so you probably get a dozen or so contour lines per green to sort out. As you can see (Green Contours 2) that there are lots and lots of ...

Rotate TILT Plane?

Tilt command works great for tilting planes that are oriented N-S or E-W... which happens on less than half the fairways and greens on my course. Is there a way to rotate the "tilt box" to be parallel to what you want to tilt when the fairways and green approach angles are not N-S or E-W? ...

No Curves...

I just loaded my course into Links for the first time to play it. What should look like curved edges of fairways, sand traps and greens look like straight sided polygons instead of smooth curves. I was changing the edge settings of polygons to 4 as I worked. Some of the shapes reacted to the edge se...

Re: DEM Points vs. DEM Gradient Images...

I finally gave up trying to use the old DEMs. They are horribly inaccurate compared to LAS files. I used a Lidar Widget called LAStoContourDXF from www.lidarwidgets.com. It can take only the ground points from the LAS to calculate contours at whatever interval you specify. It basically makes an Auto...

Terrain Housecleaning...

I've made more than a few new terrain materials that I'd like to delete from the list... like the one that uses the giant aerial photo TGA that keeps locking up the system. I'm an AutoCAD user so I'm used to being able to open a Layers Manager where you can delete stuff easily. Is there a file somew...
