Re: New South Wales Golf Club
Colin: NSW club is one gorgeous piece of APCD work ! It's practically like a "master class" in natural and realistic looking planting. The textures and colors also bring out the "Aussie" style look to the course ( if there , indeed, is such a thing ). I very much enjoyed the two ...

Is the old Animasters Site done ?
Hi Guys ! Am I missing something ? Since JC developed a new "Animasters" site , is the old one non-existent ? Nothing comes up when I click on it right from right here on LC. I still enjoy some of the old style Ani's that site had on it, even though JC has come up with a "plethora&quo...

Spyglass Hill
I just felt the need to send out major Kudos on Eddie Schmidt's rendition of Spyglass. To think that it was released 20 years ago in 2005, and without the help of the current Lidar DEMs that many are using nowadays, and at only 43 Mb. , I think the accuracy and details are exemplary !! The planting,...

Re: Iron Horse
Ian, I really enjoy this course. I've played a couple of rounds now, to get a better look and feel for the layout. The planting is beautifully done, and your new collection of trees is outstanding. They are very detailed and realistic, right down to the bark textures ! It never hurts to have another...

Re: Next project?
Ian, I would like to just jump in here and say that Pelican Hill has long been on my list of courses I'd like to see re-done. The Microsoft version gives a person a glimpse of what the course is like, but it definitely needs the skills of a top tier designer to make it look and play like it probably...

Re: The Virtues Golf Club
Well, Ian, I finally had a chance to play a round on "The Virtues". I really like the Arthur Hills layout. The the surface textures / colors look really natural and well matched. Great look ! Like everyone else, I imagine, when I got to the 12th and 13th holes, I was pretty surprised by th...

Re: The Virtues Golf Club
The screenshots look great, Ian ! Looking forward to playing it. However , later this morning I'm having a procedure done on my right eye due to advanced macular degeneration, so I may not get to it for a couple of days. Just from the photos, it seems to have a similar overall appearance to an earli...
Re: Joke
Gotta love blonde jokes ! I remember laughing out loud at this one some time ago. A group of college Freshman were gathered together by a counselor to discuss what programs and career paths they were looking to pursue. Of course, there was the fellow who wanted to study medicine and find a cure for ...

Re: Hidden Valley Golf Club California
In addition, I neglected to mention, that when available I use hole "flyovers" or other course photos to determine where rock formations are generally located, or where there may be heavier overall planting. So, it's not just taking wild guesses, after all, most of Sage's recent projects h...

Re: Hidden Valley Golf Club California
Thanks so much for the nice comments, gentlemen. I just place what looks as natural as possible to me. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I also end up "tweaking" things a bit to make it look better. I'm sure there are some areas that I sort of "miss" that look pretty bland as we...
