Mauna Kea

I hope my memory isn't slipping much more.....but wasn't there a designer working on an HD upgrade of Mauna Kea resort in Hawaii? I thought there was a thread even in the older version of Links Corner some time ago. I don't remember the designers name. The reason I'm mentioning it, is that I'm just ...

Re: Royal Lytham and St Annes 2020 Finished

I downloaded and began playing Royal Lytham this morning and , of course, noticed that permanent 'tournament spectator seating' is featured throughout the entire course. Is this the way the course looks at all times?(IRL). Can all of those stands be put in the section that says: "Show Tournament Obj...

Re: club sounds

I've noticed that as well. I usually use the Classic Swing.....but tried both Real Time and Power Stroke to see if I might do well with them. The clubs do have a different sound to them. The sound of the RTS and PS styles seem to lack a little "depth" or "weight", IMO. Didn't give it much further th...

Harbour Town HD

Since the RBC Heritage Classic is being played at Pete Dye's 'Harbour Town Links' this weekend, I just wanted to offer up accolades to designer Eddie Schmidt who created his HD rendition a couple years back. It is such a superb effort, IMO. The level of detail is remarkable. A view from the tee on t...

Re: Coomealla Beta

Well, AJ, I played a careful full round on Coomealla even "trying" to hit into the bunkers or in heavier rough in order to check out any playability issues. Or how the ball came out of different lies. I didn't find any abnormalities. I've got to agree with some of the other posters here, this does N...

Re: Old Head Golf Links

pmgolf..... Those really large blades of grass making up the rough that I saw were just to left of the 4th green. On my second shot , I didn't account for the strong wind coming from the right, so my shot veered to the left slightly down an embankment. When I went to make my third, I was looking "up...

Re: Old Head Golf Links

Well, I guess I get to play "Devil's Advocate" here a little. I really liked the look and play of Old Head overall. The ocean was well done. Nice color, and distant texture was more 'rough' looking than the smoother shoreline. Unfortunately, the color of the "striping" on the lighthouse is what it i...

Re: Colonial CC Update...

I agree with the previous posts....Dan and Eric, you did a really great job with Colonial. I'm personally kind of a 'stickler' for visual details, and I thought the 'curbs' on the cart path by each tee box was a nice touch. As well as the brick walkways and portions of cart path near the clubhouse. ...
