Re: Castle Pines

I did a DEM for Castle Pines a while back as per a request. Hopefully it gets completed and released at some point.

Re: A new course I'm working on

I am having no luck finding Lidar data for Mexico. It would probably help if I knew Spanish. I'll keep trying but don't expect much.

Re: Le Golf National and a new APCD technique

Thanks for the feed back Adelade. I can't argue with anything you said about a course done this way. The point I want to emphasize is that I have only put about 25 hours into the course so far. For someone (like me) who is interested in how a course looks at the players perspective rather than playi...

Le Golf National and a new APCD technique

I've been messing with mapping multiple 1024x1024 textures from satellite imagery (tiling) to a DEM in the APCD so that the imagery works with the Links game. I didn't think it would work initially but I am now convinced it can be done. Mapping the satellite imagery in the APCD improves the game vis...

Re: Pinehurst No 2 Alpha(ish)

Try this fix to see if the rough properties stay the same for the game settings and course settings (remember the extra fairway roll): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1bpsha2z6uDiQQ4nBceQqGhzmDRa_TK2w?usp=sharing It appears that the Deep Grass properties stay the same when switching between g...

Pinehurst No 2 Alpha(ish)

I wanted to have this course ready for the US Open but came up short on that goal. The shapes are in the terrain, I added a few details to the greens and runoffs, started the clubhouse, forest planted trees and grass, but only got the 1st hole seam blended. I'll make this available anyone who wants ...

Re: Using LIDAR DEM for Real Courses

I can certainly help you with the elevations. It looks like you started with a google earth image and "painted" the course textures over the image. I'll generated some contour lines for the entire course and you should be able to map the contours texture to your work. I'll also generate th...

I didn't have the original .png images I used in that post but I made new ones. Going forward I will now edit my posts to re-add old attachments. Thanks for keeping me straight Andy!

Seriously!

I you can find a textured 3d model of a zamboni I can have a look at importing it. The possibilities are endless! I have browsed a few free 3d model websites and have found some nice buildings I want to use.
