Re: It's Been Fun Boys
I have been keeping an eye on PGA 2k25 as well but there are some issues that prevent me from getting involved. Pot bunkers are still a big omission in the course designer, custom objects still seem to be not supported, and there will never be the ability to import lidar dem data. It takes an incred...

Re: Royal Sydney Golf Club
This looks awesome! The details you put into this course are spectacular!
Can't wait to play a round here. From looking at the DEM the greens have some character. This old course has lots to offer, even if it isn't over 7000 yards.
I had a look at my QGIS work and the DEM I provided was 2m.

Re: Using LIDAR DEM for Real Courses
Stephen - the courses you mentioned have peaked my interest as well but I couldn't find any lidar data for them, except for Renaissance Club. The Scotland lidar data available only has partial coverage of the course - very frustrating! RobV - I get confused on how the newer 3d software do things rel...

Re: Using LIDAR DEM for Real Courses
Hi Peter I haven't had a DEM import request in a few months and even longer than that from someone not named Sage. I didn't think there was much interest in the process. I did commit to doing a tutorial so I will complete it. Would you like a personal crash course on the process right now, wait for ...

Re: The Match at Shadow Creek
Ron / Sage would you send me a pm with the latest version of Shadow Creek that you are working on? The excessive save times makes me think there is a bad path mapping geometry. I only ask for one day to look at the course file, that is if you are currently working on the file to get it ready for Dec...

Re: I have never seen anything like this. HELP
It looks like all edges were turned to hard edges (sharpness 4 or -1) during the 3D work. Select the edges for the course and soften to sharpness = 0.

Re: Kinloch Golf Club (Manakin-Sabot, Virginia)
Here are the green contours for Kinloch GC: Kinlock Greens 1-6.zip Kinlock Greens 7-12.zip Kinlock Greens 13-18.zip The contours are 0.2 feet so no funny inches to decimal feet approximations for the APCD. They will be the correct size in the APCD when planar mapped at 174.00 uniform scale. I includ...

Re: My new computer and windows 11
I had problems running old programs on my Windows 10 machine when I first got it. Installing and running programs from an external hard drive helped but there still seemed to be issues with the file permissions that the old programs relied on. What seemed to fix my problems with old programs is to c...

Re: LIDAR Tutorial 1 – Creating Green Contours in QGIS
There are some areas of Australia with high quality 1m DEM's. I did a couple of course import requests from here.

Re: My new planting problem
Glenn's recommendations on program compatibility and high dpi settings improved my APCD stability when 2d planting.
