Separate tee boxes, mowed fairway without a first cut, textured rough, and a nice green and fringe make this less than mediocre course attractive to the eye but not the imagination. Mostly very narrow fairways with unrealistic angles and some interesting elevations along with a few unnatural ones are found here. The greens have either very subtle breaks or are over sloped, you never know what you're going to get until you get to the sometime-elevated greens. He used a nice assortment of trees but it wasn't that heavily planted for the size of the download. There were sharp edges on the tee boxes and greens and the bunkers were poorly done. The bunkers, or the lack of good placement of the few small ones proved to be quite ineffectual.
The elevation and the caddie were accurate and had to be for the continually changing elevations in the fairways, the second shots were very often strange to say the least. The angles of many of the holes were all playable but became boring after a short while; the lack of imagination on this re-creation of a 'real' course seemed strange. The elevated greens could have been a little more interesting if the pins weren't located continually just a short way from the front causing me to overshoot or try to flop. The green on the # 15 hole had ridiculous placement because of the huge slope of the green. It sloped to the front and in order to get close to the cup I had to hit into the center of the green so the ball would roll downhill to the cup.
I can see how hard he worked on this course and that he had more than the basic APCD skills but lacked the finer ones to make this a course to be enjoyed, both visually and for play. This wasn't one of the usual ' lets see if I can build a course a day for a week' attempts. He has the potential to build a good course if he would seek the help of his peers and have the course beta tested before releasing a quickly forgotten design. In all good conscience I cannot recommend this course for download.
