The layout is taken from a real course called Annbriar. After the tragedy of 9-11 much to his credit 'williamK' turned his course into a tribute to the forever lost and missing but never forgotten innocents who lost their lives or were directly touched by this horrendous act of barbarism. The haunting sound of bagpipes gently plays in the background, and now.the course.
With its 'big city' skyline in the background, this very attractive course has well defined tee boxes, a checkerboard fairway, nice first cut brownish green rough, wild grass as the undergrowth and a patterned coloring shows off the greens. The tree selection is one that you would most definitely see in a mid city park setting. The fairways and greens are liberally dotted with bunkers that are ineffectual because of the very generous fairways. The treatments at the water hazards are blended in with the course layout and the meandering stream adds to the realism of the course, it doesn't come into play.
The elevation and the caddie are quite accurate as need with the not so large greens, not small mind you but comfortable. The putting leaned towards the easy side and along with the wide fairways gave you some excellent birdie opportunities. This plays and looks like a 'real' course.
5th hole, par 5, 526y, a 278y drive to the left side of the fairway is safe and left me with a 246y approach. A perfect 3w left me on the fringe and a 26ft pitch to the cup for an eagle, I love to chip.
10th hole, par 4, 406y, on this wide fairway that narrows at the landing zone there is a bunker on the right and a tree jutting out into the fairway on the left. My 288y drive would have been safe behind the tree or next to the bunker because of the adjusted 9 iron to the pin for 126y.
11th hole, par 4, 411y, the trees on your immediate left are an impediment, I moved my ball to the right side of the tee box and drove up the right side of the fairway clearing the trees, 276y. This left only 133y and a 9 iron.
All I want to do now is to kick off these wet golf shoes have a nice time at the nineteenth hole, I just finished a very enjoyable round if golf at a beautiful course designed by an excellent craftsman with a good heart. I found this to be one of the nicer golf courses that I've played in quite a while. No it's not an award winner, it's not spectacular and it's not an over demanding course, just a joy. I had fun with my easy conditions and know that it will be one great course to play under full wind, because of the wide fairways and many bunkers, and fast greens because they are easy now. I would wholeheartedly recommend this course to all, not just for the pleasure it will give you but it is also a very small download and doesn't look like it is. Enjoy it.
