This very attractive deep green well blended course with occasional splashes of colors and a mowed fairway was a pleasure to look at. Unfortunately it was a rather mundane course to play. The holes with the exception of 3 or 4 doglegs were very straight and all very drivable as my 288y average drive statistics showed. Neither the bunkers nor the water hazards came into play. This is the typical course that you will find near your home, something to do on a Sunday and maybe a little exciting when the weather interferes with a normal game. I am not blaming this on the designer as he did a beautiful job with this course; being a real course he is bound by the design of the actual course and cannot make any changes.
The elevation and the caddie were excellent and had to be because of all of the changes in trajectory and clubs throughout this up and down course, this was it's only salvation, the varying elevations. I found the par 5's all to be possible eagle holes and the relatively flat (with interesting minor breaks) greens offering up a huge amount of birdies. As I said before this is a drivers paradise.
4th, par 4, 411y with a 30y drop, this is one of the doglegs, to the right, it was easy to cut across with the tremendous drop, I aimed 285y up the fairway and was able, with a helpful roll, to get a 312y drive to this green. This left me with a 69y approach shot.
14th par 5, 522y with a 24.1' drop, on this narrow unguarded fairway my drive went 299y leaving me a 233y with a 13.5' elevation approach shot to the flag. Using a 2 iron with an adjustment in trajectory for the added distance it put me in eagle range.
As you see I couldn't find this course too interesting, if you are looking for a reasonable download and a leisurely game by all means download it. Although it was very well done it was another average course to play and yes it was very playable but not a challenge to be seen. I wouldn't tell you not to download it but it was just too easy for my tastes.
