When I see a course marked imaginary I expect a Space Adventure or at least a Crocodile Falls, enjoying the last two even though I am not a fan of imaginary courses I feared a course named Kwawangey but was pleasantly surprised to find a course that should have been a fiction. Although it had the ubiquitous Mountain that we've all learned to love it was a normal ordinary mountain course.
The combination of tee boxes, deep grass rough, mowed fairways and greens colors worked very well. His choice of trees made the course look heavier than it was and the undulations in the fairways looked and played well. The undulated, elevated fairway in front of the green on the 2nd hole was interesting but didn't come into play. The putting was on the easy side but usually had minor breaks that kept you honest. The fairways with a few exceptions were average in width and easy to hit. The elevation and the caddie were both excellent. I play easy pin placement and the majority of flags were unusually close to the edge of the greens
4th hole, par 3, 163y, 25.1' elevation, the caddie will give you a 6 iron, take it, I did and landed 32inches from the cup.perfect club.
7th hole, par 5, 524y, my drive took me 281y, unfortunately there are two trees in the center of the fairway, I had a 214y approach to the green a 2 iron proved to work well because I landed 8.4ft from the cup, decent putt.eagle.
8th hole, par4, 403y 25.1 down, a very unusual sideways drop shot, if you aim just slightly to the right of the left bunker you will roll into the center of the fairway, any further over to the right and the ball will drift into the right rough. With this 291y drive I had 106y to go and a sw was the choice of the day.
12th hole, par 4, 401y, with a creek running across the green the driver wasn't worth trying, a 3w landed 253y short of the rough by the water hazard and left 147y to go, this is more than acceptable. I used an 8 iron with a trajectory adjustment for just a little loft and that worked out quite well.
This course showed me nothing extraordinary, it was just another well made golf course in my eyes, hit and putt course, there wasn't a challenge and not much in the way of thinking about club choices on every hole and the holes were generally common not imaginative. It was a nice course if that's what your looking for but it won't see me again.
If it's a regular round if golf your looking for I would recommend this course but if you want a challenging game this is not it.
