The Course -
Summed up in one sentence, the course offers alot but you do feel that the cracks have been glossed over with various attempts.
Woodcreek is one of the tougher designs out there, featuring a huge amount of foliage and trees, and other objects. This isn't any surprise, as the filesize exceeds 40mb on download and would only be recommended if you simply have a powerful machine not to mind the long rendering times. The course has a tough back 9, with various long holes and line of sight shots being critical. The heavy use of plants and objects make this a course that fairways should be considered a luxury to play from. Step off the fairway and the chance of having a type of grass in front are quite common. The ending holes of the course being 2 par 5's in the final 3, are very difficult to score from or even par. The 16th green is a heavy sloping one that will take a lot of effort landing upon.
To me, the course lacks in too many areas to consider this anything grand. Common faults exist, such as very poor mesh on a lot of holes. The odd texture bleed around the bunkers and fringes. But, I think mostly, the designer was learning the tricks as he went. There are numerous bunkers on this course, crossing several terrains, and these caused problems with the mesh too. Sand also slopes far too high for my liking, and from a distance, looks like snow on a ski ramp at times. Verts are pulled out of place too, the left side of the 4th green is visible. The mud around the 15th water has some mesh/vert probs that would look better if turned. The 4th hole was my least favourite, showing that dark shadow down the right fairway edge, and when bounced off and asked for a drop, the ball was placed on a spot of rough in the area that was virtually unplayable from with the foliage planted. If the objects were trimmed, it be more playable and smaller to download.
