These course release notes were provided by Ron Weel :
Green Bay Country Club is located just South of “Packerland” near Bellevue. Even though it has the designation “Country Club”, it’s not by any means a cushy , laid back course.
In some places it’s a little “rough around the edges”. There are ample elevation changes throughout the layout as well as a couple of blind fairway shots.
It plays through somewhat heavily wooded areas, and also has a creek with stony banks that meanders throughout the layout , often showing
up in front of greens. The course plays 6969 yds from the back tees, but hole 6 is a 637 yd par 5 which ranks as long as any par 5 in the state.
It’s a good idea to be well aware of your wind direction and elevations when choosing your clubs also. In many cases, it may be wiser to “lay up”, or you may face the consequences. There are some thick grasses scattered about….but the fairways and greens are well manicured and maintained.
Overall, this course has provided some challenging rounds to golfers of any handicap. We hope you have fun playing this LINKS version. |
