Günter Kujat kindly gave me (Adelade) permission to update this classic course of his, which had its last release in 2002.
My goals with this update were mainly to make the greens and pins enjoyable on the more realistic "challenging" conditions that came with the v1.06 update of Links 2003, and adding seam blending to the fringes and greens. I also felt like there was a good opportunity in upgrading the textures to higher resolution versions, and a few of the layout changes that have happened to the course in real life since 2002 made it into this update too. A full list of changes can be viewed within the ReadMe. However, as always when I update courses, I strive to change as little as possible while still achieving my goals, so most things about the course remain just as they were in the good old classic versions.
Munchen Nord Eichenried is a true classic in real life as well, located just outside München in the south of Germany. It has hosted the BMW International Open on the European Tour 26 times since 1989 and is set to continue on the same track. It is a parkland course on relatively flat ground, with plenty of trees, ponds and ditches that come into play in interesting ways. The club offers three 9-hole courses, and the championship 18-hole course (the one you play in Links) has a special routing which partly goes through all three of them. This overall championship routing has stayed the same since at least 2000, as far as I can tell.
