COURSE NOTES |
This is where it all started in 1860!
Prestwick has held 24 Opens (the last in 1925) and only St. Andrews has held more - and 11 Amateur Championships.
A real quirky Course - some holes at the beginning and the end akin to the original 12-hole layout by Old Tom Morris, with the other holes giving a true test of Links golf - remember that the original Course was designed in the age of hickory clubs and the gutty ball.
Pot bunkers galore, roller coaster greens and fairways, and out of bounds on many holes. |
