|Coomealla golf course is on the southern NSW border, Australia. It's hot arid country and over summer the grass dries off and greens fairways get hard and fast.
The course runs along the northern bank of the Murray river, with the state of Victoria on the other side.
Lots of birdies and eagles available, as long you keep it on the short stuff. Fairways are reasonably generous, although the course may have some bite if there is an afternoon breeze.
There is plenty of birds and wildlife around the course. Kangaroos come out to graze on the fairways, and if you listen, you will hear cockatoos, lorikeets and the Australian raven. Perhaps the occasional magpie warbling or even the whistle of the "Rothbury" paddle steamer, as you are putting on the 8th green. And what Aussie course would be complete without a Kookaburra?
