COURSE NOTES |
Changed from Beta:
Corrected various lie labeling issues.
Re-textured Rough and Fairway. I liked the green texture so I left it as is.
Tweaked some minor terrain elevations and various other minor landscaping issues.
Description from the Beta:
This is an update of the Access Software Hyatt Dorado Beach East course released in 1991 for Links the Challenge of Golf. Dorado Beach East is now under Ritz-Carlton management. The overall layout of the holes is mostly unchanged from 1991 - except that the front nine and back nine have been swapped. In 1991, Access Software described Dorado Beach East as a "seaside links" winding "through a lush jungle dotted with pristine lakes" and streams in a "wonderful tropical adventure".
This update of the course tries to adhere to that spirit throughout the course. The fairways are very generous and the greens forgiving. All pins have been planted using the pin grid TGA map. The signature hole is the double-dog leg par 5 4th hole. I would suggest spending a moment practicing this hole in advance before starting a round in order to familiarize yourself and plan accordingly. When playing in Gusty/Windy conditions you will find it necessary from time to time to grab a different club than the one your caddy suggests. The two par 3's on the front nine (hole 2 & hole 5) are of a distance not typically seen but nonetheless playable. Includes Hole Previews, Splash Screen, Logo, Flags, and Handicap.
