COURSE NOTES
Monument Golf Club - FINAL RELEASE 4/30/15
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Course Designer: Matthew Rose
Course Type: Fictional Desert

Inspiration: Troon North, The Boulders, Desert Mountain, The Stadium Course at PGA West, and the underrated Desert Forest Golf Club by Red Lawrence, plus my own fictional APCD course The Horizons club. I felt it was time to do another desert design for Links.... during the winter months these courses tend to pop on on television more often and the style becomes more ingrained in my mind.

Course Statistics:
Par: 72
Yardage: 7,140 (back tees, five sets total)
File Size: 48,609 KB

Design Notes:

This course features HD 1024 x 1024 textures. Most of these are textures recycled from my previous APCD releases with a few tweaks and color adjustments; these are a combination of ones I created myself as and some altered from old custom textures taken from Jack Nicklaus 6: Golden Bear Challenge which have been expanded in size.

Most of the objects are stock; a few custom grasses and rocks have been imported from other Links designs. Some of the rocks are from Mike Jones' Crystal Pines. The custom tee markers are mine and they are re-used from Blackwolf Run; these may be imported for other APCD users without permission provided the author is credited.

The bunkering is severe in places and is meant to resemble Pete Dye's bunkering on courses like the stadium course at PGA West and others.

The panorama was created by Daniel at Links Corner specifically for my previous desert release The Horizons; I have re-used it here.

I have chosen not to build a 3D clubhouse; however I have done some 3D bridge work around the course, notably for the holes on the front nine around the wash (2-5).

CHANGES FROM BETA VERSION:

- Some texture properties have changed, particular the bunker lip (which one person said was acting as a hazard), wash, and a few blends. In play testing it was noted some of the grass textures had a hard bouncing quality to them for some players, though these have not been edited from "normal" properties. Beta testers did not find this disruptive to game play. The course has been left unlocked to allow players to change their own texture properties if they desire.

- Three pin positions (one easy, one normal, one hard) added to each green, to bring the total to nine for each green (three easy, three normal, three hard)
- Moved a couple of borderline pin positions fractions of inches
- Moved tee placements on #6 which were displaying incorrectly on scorecard
- Hole previews added
- A custom flag is not included as I have been having some display problems with flags
