COURSE NOTES
Set in Mid Bedfordshire between Yarlswood and Elsham Woods is the course of Fairview. Designed as a sister course to Yarlswood, it is another long par 70 course set between woodland and farmland. It also has the same bush hazards, and plenty of water to keep you on your toes. Once again I have designed this course to be playable using faster settings than my earlier courses as these tend to be the speeds I use myself these days.
Thanks to Jerry Garlisch for the hole handicapping, and McCoist for some of the textures I modified and also used on Yarlswood. Thanks also to Links Corner for hosting all the great courses available for this fantastic game.

All the best, and happy golfing........ Lez

CLIPNOTES by Ben Bateson (ousgg)

Description
Fictional, marshland course
Location
Bedfordshire.
Conditions
M*/M* is again the right spot.
Concept  7/10
Fairview is the twin course to the equally impressive Yarlswood, and makes a fairly impressive bedfellow. Rather than making an emphasis out of tight lakeside holes, it uses its water hazards - mostly ditches and streams - in a slightly more restrained way, although the hole lengths are again stretched out to slightly unreasonable lengths. As with Yarlswood, Lez shows plenty of flair in bringing British-style courses to the screen.
Appearance  10/10
A particular highlight of Fairview is the low-level planting, the delicate grasses and wildflowers exercising admirable restraint but also providing a delightful down-to-earth counterpoint to the golfing extravagance. That\'s not to say the rest isn\'t excellent - this is exactly the sort of intricately detailed course that proves just as rewarding as more ambitious creations.
Playability  8/10
At a course part of 70, there are very few shots to be wasted, and the course will make you feel like you\'re playing for every single one of them. The major frustrations come in some prescriptive landing areas and tightly-guarded greens, although to be fair these are the exception rather than the rule. The impressive handling of course visuals helps the challenge look reasonable nevertheless.
Challenge  7/10
It\'s likely that you\'ll shoot close to par here, but the challenge has too obviously been contrived with artificial target golf and lengthening holes into the 400+ yard range. Sometimes it\'s enough just to let a course\'s merits speak for themselves.
Technical  9/10
Another superlative effort from Lez, achieving much from a relatively modest workload. The hyper-realistic visuals are there in spades, even if the golf isn\'t quite.
Overall Play this and Yarlswood back-to-back and you\'ll not be disappointed. Even if it\'s not 100% authentic, it\'d be a lot of fun. 41/50
