COURSE NOTES
This course began life as Codrington, a real course near Bristol, but I soon lost interest in it and decided to turn it into a fictional Par 70 course located in North Bedfordshire. This change of direction rejuvenated my enthusiasm, and meant that I could dabble at playing God again - moving, adding and deleting bunkers and lakes, re-routing holes, recreating my own 'look' and generally having a lot of fun, which is what course creation should be, after all.
The course has been named after the local Immigration Removal Centre, just outside of Bedford. It was designed to be played at speeds between Mod Fast(CH) and Mod(CH) Fast(CH). Like Elsham Woods, it has been tailored towards faster speeds than some of my previous courses. This is because I play more at these faster speeds these days, due to being involved in the Offline Tour run by Dazmaniac.
My thanks go to McCoist for allowing the use and modification of some of his textures, to Jerry Garlisch for the hole handicapping and beta testing, and as usual, to Mike and Shez, my ever trusty testers who have always been there for me, giving many hours of their time to make sure my courses are as bug-free as possible.
I would recommend the use of the excellent DanielsSky51 with this course as it really works well with it, and is the sky I used in all the preview pictures.

Thanks to everyone who keeps this great sim alive.

All the best..... Lez

CLIPNOTES by Ben Bateson (ousgg)

Description
Fictional, farmland course
Location
Placed by the designer in Bedfordshire
Conditions
M*/M* seems like a good balance.
Concept  7/10
A lovely, realistic portrayal of English countryside hallmarks one of Lez\'s most lifelike environments yet. Parts of the course follow the English club archetype very closely, and Lez creates a great deal from narrow fairways and not over-bunkering. However, there are also some stubbornly tough holes which don\'t really fit with the genre.
Appearance  10/10
Lez has really found his niche in this photo-realistic and unfussy portrayal of English grassland, and the devil is in the details of textbook planting and some grubby down-at-heel bunkers. The farmland surrounds make for delightful scene-setting too; the attention to detail in the buildings and water hazards sets the course a step above.
Playability  9/10
Although the concept of Yarlswood is let down a little by some fanciful holes, there is little doubt that it provides riveting and decision-filled entertainment. I particularly enjoyed the fresh 3rd hole and its optimistic bale-out area in the middle of the lake, and it was one of the few courses that insisted it had to be played all over again as soon as I holed out on the 18th
Challenge  7/10
Small greens and narrow fairways aren\'t quite the archetype for this sort of course, and there is no doubt that the short stuff has been trimmed right down to provide a bit of extra challenge. The course doesn\'t really need it, and it would have been quite sufficient to present it straight and on its own merits. Certainly the amount of water lying around is more than enough to frighten off the shy golfer.
Technical  8/10
Visually, it\'s immaculate stuff from Lez, but the artificial nature of the challenge and a fair few holes raise a question mark over course design. Perhaps the fact that this course has been emigrated from its original location has not been fully covered up.
Overall A hugely fun and playable course which is no less than we expect from Lez - but Bedfordshire? Really? 41/50
