| COURSE NOTES |
Beta (ii) of Roughton Course "A"
One of Four Courses and although fictional each runs across and towards the North Sea coastline in Norfolk, England.
Through Woodlands and along heathland until finishing on course "D" a links.
This is my first release and although I have played this for months, it is now updated with more planting and seams.
There is much to do before the final release, which will be unlocked.

Concept 1/10
While the idea of a Roughton 4-course complex is inestimable in its ambition, this first installment implies that a little more tuning may be required. The mountainous pano and elevations do not suit the intended location at all and the whole premise seems to be centred around creating bizarre tests of playability and patience. |
Appearance 3/10
What I can only describe as a bizarre planting technique hallmarks this course. A mass of unruly flower planting is overshadowed by a bizarre range of trees in every style imaginable. Unfortunately, clones haven\'t escaped the dart-throwing style. Although there has been some grace with the textures and blending, there are quite a few mesh folds and poor extrusions present. |
Playability 3/10
I find the A-course laborious at best, and depressing at worst. Blind shots greet you from nearly every tee and far too many approaches. Combined with the terminally unrealistic atmosphere and lack of sound, and it\'s hard to ever immerse yourself in the game. |
Challenge 1/10
Even off the mid-tees, the course has been gratuitously pushed above 7600 yards, and the unrealistic setup invites plenty of penalties. There has been little consideration to realistic landing areas, particularly down the back nine where I found myself teeing off with a 5-iron because I couldn\'t see any other option. You couldn\'t play this with any element of competitiveness. |
Technical 4/10
For all its flaws, Roughton represents the ability to turn out a coherent course. There is a lack of planning and a lack of environment, sure, but everyone has to start somewhere. |

Too long and completely out of tune with its intended location. The B-course can only really be a step up. |
