Currently, we have two available that we use regularly. Either can be used, we have no preference and only list both for alternatives.
FileSplitter
The program is approx 500kb in size and does the job very well. The term of poof and unpoof are used to in reference to splitting and joining.
Download here
To Start, simply download and extract all the files into a new folder. Name the folder Filesplitter for future use. Run the program Filesplitter1o1.exe.
Simply, use the Browse button to locate your file to be split. (xxxx.CRZ)
Increase the Number of pieces until you are confident that the resulting segments will be a suitable size for you.
Click Poof to split the file !
Inside the same location as the original file, you will now find, files named xxxx.CRZ.0 to xxxx.CRZ.nn. Zip each fileand upload to us and we will compile them together for addition to the Database.
The Merge tab simply allows the split files to be located and once all are added, it will then de-poof the files (join) as before.
SplitJoin
This program is even smaller, at around 30kb, and a very versatile tool too. It actually allows you to specify what size file pieces you want, enabling smaller segments.
Download here
Once downloaded, it extracts as a single file with no other attachments. To run, simply double click upon the program icon.
Ensure the Split tab is selected and use the Browse button to locate the file to be split. This time you can specify where to save the pieces and what size you wish them to be.
Inside the location you specified to Save the files, you will now find, files named xxxx.CRZ.0 to xxxx.CRZ.nn. Zip each fileand upload to us and we will compile them together for addition to the Database.
The Join tab allows you to Browse for the files to be joined and allows you to save as a new file name if you so wish.
Final Notes
Ensure you always have a backup of any file(s) before splitting. Neither Links Corner nor the owners of the above freeware programs can be held responsible for any files damaged or lost through this process.
