This is a farken classic.
Why anyone would dig up a thread from 2005 and bother arguing the merits of a course released 14 odd years ago is totally mind blowing.
And to top it of I see Medinah mentioned. And since we're all offering our opinions here can I just say that Medinah( IRL course ) would have to be the biggest shithole of a course that has ever existed. FMD it's like playing the same 3 holes over and over again, the whole place should be turned into a swamp.
Carry on gents.

Cut throat. This is supposed to be a fun game to play on a computer. A course is a course is a course. Some are ****, some are works of art. Let it go at that and have fun. I remember playing "Golden Bear Golf" when it was rendered in 8 bit graphics........We have come a LONG way people......ease up. My 4 cents worth...........

I am just thankful for you designers. I download courses and play them. If I like them, I keep them. If I don't like them, I jettison them, but I don't need to bash a course, publicly or to bash someone who doesn't like a course that I may like.

My Mantra (because I could never get APCD to work for me) has always been, anyone who completes a course in APCD deserves a Par or better.

I guess this is the exception that proves the rule. This is just an amazingly incredible pile of donkey poo! It is a golf course hidden in a turd, flushed down a toilet and then rejected by the sewage plant, I assume, at this point specialists wearing HAZMET suits are carefully examining, what I imagine they think is some kind of alien life form.
BOGEY!!! ... there! 12 years of golf course reviews and I finally had to say it!

Having spent long, long hours in APCD, it is hard for me to rag on a course I know a developer has spent long, long hours on too. I've done my old home course in Hutchinson, IS, and PGA National Golf Club (Honda Classic). I'm probably the only one who plays my home course of Carey Park. I hope more play PGA National and I hope PLSA used it in the Spring for the Honda Classic. Atana Hills is beautifully done in many ways... but just terrible in others

When you put out s final on a course do you really use labels like Beta Fair 3? Beta Rough?

I'm done talking about this. And I still appeal to designers to do real courses. There are plenty of good ones to choose from that have yet to be done.

I would love to have a go at more courses, especially European Tour venues, but the information just isn't available (Unless you happen to work for Sky Whistle ), so you can't really do them properly. It's why I did Rabat Rouge as a fictional course.

Yes, and few strakalne green maps. You can get an accurate length, shape and to some degree elevations from Google Earth Pro. I don't mind an author making a guess at the greens ... just be sane about it. If it's a tourney course on TV, I DVR it and Watch and design.

Golfer: That can't be my ball, caddy. It looks far too old. Caddy: It's a long time since we started, sir.
