Hey guys, I just had a thought. Now that I am using an ultra-wide monitor, I can screen-capture images up to 3440x1440. I was thinking this would make it much easier to put a course overlay picture together. If any of you guys want an overlay for a specific course, give me a shout and I'll try to make one for you, provided Google earth has decent images available. Whistle

Dan

Hey Dan, I'm looking at Tara Iti in New Zealand.
I've done a quick rough one from google earth, resolution wasn't that great.
If you are looking for something to do some time you can have a squiz for me if you want.

I gave it a try DH, but it really looked much too blurry to work with. Was nothing I could do to clear it up. Apparently Google earth hasn't updated that area with HD imagery yet. Sad Do you want it anyway?

Best wishes,

Dan

Yeah, no worries Dan. I couldn't get a great result either.

Thanks for having a crack for me though. I assume what you came up with is similar to mine but since you went to the effort I'll take it and have a look.

Thanks

OK, give me some time to re-create the whole thing. When I saw how it was going to look, I backed away from it to see if you still wanted to try it like that.

Just for the record, will this be enough area to cover what you need?

Dan

Got it... Thumb Up

The enhanced version is quite good considering what you had to work with.
Certainly a lot better than what I had done.

Don't know what will come of it but it's a starting point.

Thanks for doing this Dan, I appreciate it.

Cheers

Just a question concerning Google Earth for Dan or anyone who can answer.

Is there anyway you can 'turn off' the trees in the 2D mode?

Thanks

Todd - not quite sure what you mean, but you can turn off the crappy 3D trees via Layers and untick "3D Buildings" or "Photorealistic".
