They were saying stimp 13 for today but heavy overnight rain softened the course. They're playing lift clean and place.

Maybe B S F(C) would be better conditions for today.

If you haven't played round 3 yet. Pin for Hole 9 should be 2, not 3.
Sorry for the error.

billw,

I think those 16th hole tees are a little too far forward playing today 152 yards on links, they are hitting 177 yard shots into the green there today and yesterday I believe was similar, perhaps earlier rounds too. In PGA Tournament play typically other than a specialty island hole or feature hole, anything below this is typically suspect. A short par 3 in that range at the lowest usually, long par 3, in the up to 250 range.

Just a heads up young fella,

RW Smile

Update: Always fun when a tie occurs and a chance to go into a play-along playoff billw. I tied Ian with a par in first playoff hole, so a T1 which I count as a win. Thanks for posting again this week as always!

rw,

I know you're right about hole 16. There are tee boxes in the game on the hole with no tee markers on them where the pros were hitting from. In these cases, I try to approximate as best as I can when I know they aren't using the back tee that day.

billw,

I figured so of course just a suggestion though, I take a look at the PGA Tour Card online of a player that has played the hole, if unable to confirm a yardage on TV, which is usually the case. Here is Poulter's from yesterday, and unlike on par 4, and par 5 holes where exact yards off tee shot are stated, the par 3's are a guess. Here you can see it is fairly rear or back tee, and bearing in mind that you aren't likely to see too many below the 175 yard range on the low end, except specialty holes. Then I look at the yardages for each available tee in Links and using those two criteria, make the best approximation from there.

Cheers and thanks in all cases for your efforts billw,

RW

PS - This will be a non issue in Links 2020- "A Vision of Golf" - The Legacy Edition, as all Play Along round yardages and pins, etc. will be inputted daily from Ponte Vedra head office. Clap
