Here are some shots from yesterday's Senior tour event at Bear Mountain. The course is undergoing "Condominimization"-again-although they won't be giving it the Glen Abbey treatment...the players will simply be playing around apartments built into the mountain. This course is deadly if you're following a threesome (I followed Monty, McCarron & Corey-although Daly & Langer were never far away). The walk from one green to the next tee requires a mountain goat escort...we're talking serious elevation changes-not for the weak in the legs! I can see where it got its name-it's not just because of Jack! Scared

Anyway, if any enterprising designer has a mind to do a REAL mountain course, here are some shots of the front 9.

I couldn't get a great shot of the green-it's a little treacherous! Fear

...including an UGLY hazard! The green was a little crowded so I shot from a comfy tree stump. Naughty

I don't have shots from the back 9. If the weather is good I'll try to get out for the final round-if not, then we'll have to wait till next year's event. I've "walked" several PGA events in my life-maybe it's Father Time, but I'm more inclined to believe that's it's the topography-especially getting from one hole to the next as I said at the beginning, but my legs are complaining about this one! In any event, I hope that there's an enterprising APCD designer who can use these.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to go back on Sunday-we finally got some long-overdue rain on the Island - that sounds a little strange considering what's happening in the Caribbean but we have some real fire issues, both in BC and Washington, not to mention SoCal.

Anyway the course is a tough enough walk when the ground is dry. I'll do the back nine next year-if anybody is thinking of doing a version, by this time next year the fairways will be lined with new condos so you won't have to worry about things like trees and/or mountain scenery Naughty ...you'll just have to worry about shanking your tee shot onto somebody's balcony!

Good to see the old classic finger in the photo there Jimbo... Smile

Nice pics, looks a tough mother of a course.

Jack also included something else that you don't normally find at other courses.

...in case you need to go into sudden-death overtime to see who's buying at the "other" 19th hole... Naughty

FYI, here's what both courses look like, at least on the card. They used the Mountain Course (it was the original), but played the 12th as a Par 5 at just over 500 yards.

I kept my finger away from this one! Whistle
