I started with the same version and have purchased every version since then, too.

I still play online, about 5 nights a week, with a good friend.

I started playing this game when it came out as Links Leaderboard golf on a Commodore computer. Since then (Somewhere in the 1980s) I have had it on every computer I have owned. I have tried all the rest, Links is the best!

Me too. I've been playing Links since it first came out. I've tried a lot of other golf sims over the years but Links has always been #1.

Recently have been trying TGC2 but the jury is still out on that one. Links is still the best!

I also started with Leaderboard on the Commodore 64. I later advanced to the Amiga. When they came out with Bountiful Golf Course, I spent a few hundred dollars for a hard drive and more memory so I could play. Also had to learn to work with Dos.

I've been playing since 1998, when it was developed and owned by Access Software. I love how it has evolved, and the myriad of courses that are available. It's hands down, better that the JN series OR the
EA Sports Tiger series in my opinion. I hope it continues to exist and
evolve!!!!

Been away from the Links site for awhile. See it has closed and wondering is there anyplace to continue playing. Played since Access & hate to see it go. Please tell me a site to go to.
Thanks.

As long as there are designers of the quality of Sage, the Jones brothers, Robert Miller etc etc we are in good hands and will be able to play this fabulous games until we drop. What other computer game can compare in terms of longevity and without software upgrades?

I started playing it using Windows NT which wouldn't run Links 2001. I have forgotten the name of the vesion that I used then but when I got a new P/C and could run 2001, I was SO pleased!!! Especially with all the wonderful courses to play. It was Christmas every day for months! I have had my last 2 desktop p/c's built specifically so that I can continue to play 2003 - even with rubbishy Windows 10. I'm in to the end!!!!

I miss being able to play Links 2003. After I bought my current laptop over 3 years ago to begin the transition to PG, I was no longer able ablt to play Links due to the many graphics issues. I still use APCD occasionally to do things like 3D design work and some other things, but haven't used it to design a course since I made a representation of my backyard golf course.
I still like seeing that many are still enjoying Links, just wish I could be a part of it.
I play PG occasionally. Mostly to see how the courses I designed in APCD still play, but never got very good at Course Forge.
For the last few years, I have been more active in a Global VR PGA Tour community. Helping setup conditions for weekly tournaments on a private server that a very creative programmer was able to create to get these old arcade games back online.

All my best to the Links community.

Tim,
That is sad. There are so many nice courses coming out. You should find an old PC that LINKS can be played on. Sad

Just a tip Tim. There are hundreds of used desktop PC's available on EBay by people that are buying new ones, that are more than sufficient to run Links. You can pick one up for 300 dollars or less if you look around a bit.

Best wishes,

Dan
